Prayer
We believe pray is an essential component of the life of every believer and of the church. This spiritual discipline is foundational in our growth because it embodies our daily dependence upon Christ for all things.
When prayer is neglected in the believers life, we naturally begin to drift toward self-reliance. Instead of depending upon Christ and the power of the His Spirit, we begin to depend upon our own strength, wisdom, and abilities. As we elevate our "own power" as authoritative, we lose sight of our need for God and begin attempting to accomplish His work in our own strength.
To help us guard against self-reliance, we make prayer a regular part of our life together as a church. We pray regularly during our service, and we also gather quarterly for prayer and worship nights.
During these nights, we praise God for His greatness, we confess our sins to Christ, pray for our own spiritual growth and holiness, for the advancement of the gospel throughout our city and among the nations, and for the Holy Spirit to work through us as we seek to make disciples for the glory of God.
